San Diego Lantern Festival
The 2011 San Diego Lantern Festival founded and presented by the Little Saigon Foundation starts today (08/26) and runs through the weekend (08/28). Admission is $5.
There are plenty of activities going on at this year's Lantern Festival which include a Kid's Talent Contest, Street Performers, Live Music, Lion Dance Demonstrations, and Carnival Rides. The main event of the festival will be the crowning of Miss Asia San Diego. There will also be some notable food trucks (Devilicious, Asian Persuasion, Food Farm, Mangia Mangia, Super Q, Two for the Road) selling their delicious cuisine all weekend. You can also receive daily status updates on their Facebook page.

Sounds like a wonderful event to celebrate our Asian heritage along with the performing arts and cinema. Missed this years event but hope to make it next time.
