Say Hi to Marisa!
Welcome to the Foundation Marisa Romero! Marisa is 21 years old, from Hayward, CA. She is now a senior at UCSD, majoring in Ethnic Studies and Political Science, with an emphasis on International Relations. Driven by overwhelming academics and permanent residence at the schools premiere library: the Geisel, she decided that her interest in helping the community could be of more service than just reading at the library.
Marisa joined the San Diego Film Foundation in the summer of 2009 as general volunteer. But upon her arrival at the first volunteer meeting, she decided that she wanted to take an active role in the Foundation. She found that another outlet, such as arts and media, could encourage her growth and appreciation for her education. She feels that with our organization she is receiving the tools to use her knowledge to develop a deeper and meaningful awareness for different modes of multicultural perspectives. She is half Chinese and half Mexican, which adds to the multi-cultural staff here at the Foundation. Marisa will be assisting with office projects, organizing, and assisting the programming team in administrative duties. Congratulations Marisa!
