This past week, I went to a CAP (Coalition of Asian Pacific organizations) meeting on campus to get to know some of the people who are a part of it. Some of the clubs that were present were the Cambodian Student Association, the Japanese Student Association, the Multi Asian Student Association, and the Chinese American Student Association.
I came to the meeting very excited about getting to know the organizations so that I could help SDAFF become close partners with CAP. At the meeting, the issue was brought up about how the number of people coming out to Asian-American related events are dwindling, and we realized that trying to think of new ways to convince people to come out is a bit daunting. But hopefully, over the course of the next year, SDAFF and CAP will become a great team and help bring a sense of community and pride to all of the Asian communities (and students) in San Diego.
