My name is Mindy Lee and I am going into my third year in college at UCSD. I am a Visual Arts Media major and I am planning to double major in Communications. I first heard about the San Diego Asian Film Festival through my friend, Jini Shim, who also used to intern for SDAFF. I wanted to get involved with helping to spread the Asian American culture. It finally dawned on me on how much I'm missing out on these kinds of opportunities.
After thinking about this opportunity, I quickly asked and crossed my fingers that an intern position would be open. I was asked to come in for an interview and I was fortunate enough to be chosen as part of the SDAFF team. Though I'm not the best person to ask about Asian American films, I'm hoping I will be through the help of this internship. I'm more than excited that I am finally on board with the rest of the amazing team and I cannot wait to utilize my creative side with them. Not only am I thrilled to help out, but I am grateful and happy that I will be learning about so many different things through the power of cinema.
THE MISSION OF THE SAN DIEGO ASIAN FILM FOUNDATION IS TO CONNECT AND TRANSFORM AUDIENCES WITH THE HUMAN EXPERIENCE THROUGH THE MEDIA ARTS. IN DOING THIS, WE HELP BUILD A CULTURED AND COMPASSIONATE SOCIETY.
